Frame Size (H x L): 43” x 36”
Apron Size (H x L): 33” x 26”

Offered is an antique Wall Street Journal newspaper boy apron, dating to between 1930 and 1940.  Printed across the top in a yellow-and-red block font is “THE WALL STREET JOURNAL.”  Further, printed across the middle in white font is the following:

“IT BRINGS YOU BUSINESS”
From Everywhere to Anywhere
COMPLETE-ACCURATE-DAILY

And finally, printed across the bottom in yellow-and-red block font is “THE WALL STREET JOURNAL”, similar to what is printed across the top of the apron.

Conservation Process: This apron was hand sewn to cotton fabric, and both were hand sewn to a mounting board.  To prevent the black dye in the cotton fabric from seeping into the apron, it was first washed in a standard wash and then in a dye setting wash.  The apron is positioned behind a UV resistant acrylic, and spaced apart therefrom using spacers.

Frame: This offering is in our X-Large Distressed Black Frame.  However, it can be reframed and would look great using any one of our Large or X-Large Frames, which are shown in the final two images.  The pricing associated with the different framing options may vary.  Reframing of an offering may delay shipment by up to two weeks.

Condition Report: This apron has some minor font cracking and has some minor stains.  Overall, however, it is in fantastic condition and is a great display piece, particularly for an office.
