Frame Size (H x L): 14” x 10”
Bandanna Size (H x L): 24” x 20”

Offered is a great “God Bless America” banner, dating to the World War II era.  The center of the banner includes an eagle, and an overprinting of “Liberty & Justice for All” across the eagle’s wings.  The bottom includes an overprinting of “We are Proud to Be Americans.”  This banner would have been proudly displayed in a window during WWII, similar to how service flags were displayed.  The verbiage of the overprinting, the image, and the colors combine to make a fantastic piece.

Conservation Process: This bandanna was hand sewn to cotton fabric, and both were hand sewn to a mounting board.  To prevent the black dye in the cotton fabric from seeping into the bandanna, it was first washed in a standard wash and then in a dye setting wash.  The bandanna is positioned behind a UV resistant acrylic, and spaced apart therefrom using spacers.  The frame is gold in color, substantial, and beautiful.

Condition Report: This banner has some minor water staining across its bottom, and some minor stains across its top.  In other respects, it is in excellent conditions and presents wonderfully.

Collectability Level: The Good – Perfect for Beginning Collectors and Gifts
Date of Origin: 1939-1945
